BLUMENTHAL: TRUMP TAX PLAN WOULD LEAVE CONNECTICUT TAXPAYERS WORSE OFF
[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) today released the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s proposed tax plan.
“After only 100 days in office, the President is pushing an unrealistic plan that would enrich himself and his family at the expense of middle and low income families. His tax plan would provide massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans while increasing our nation’s deficit and prohibiting people from deducting state income taxes. Very simply: This plan would leave Connecticut taxpayers worse off. This plan fails the basic test—to protect working families, promote innovation, drive investment in American jobs, and eliminate wasteful giveaways and loopholes. We also urgently need a responsible infrastructure package with dedicated funding to promote sustained investment in world-class roads, bridges, railways, and airports. I will oppose this misguided plan, and I will continue fighting for a tax code that works for all Americans.”
