Bluefish return home Friday against Blue Crabs
City of Bridgeport celebrates 20 years of professional baseball at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard
(Bridgeport) – The Bridgeport Bluefish open their 20th Anniversary Season with their first home game on Friday, April 28, 2017. The game will start at 4:05 p.m., as a special tribute to Opening Day in 1998 which also began at 4:05 p.m. Gates will open to the public at 3:05 p.m. on Friday.
“We’re so excited to begin our first homestand of this landmark season,” says Bluefish General Manager Paul Herrmann. “We have a ton of new and exciting things to offer this year. We’re also on track to welcome our four millionth fan to the ballpark early this season, which is another great milestone for our franchise.”
Special 20th Anniversary pregame ceremonies will include Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, Bluefish co-founder Mickey Herbert, former Bluefish General Manager Charlie Dowd, and former Bluefish pitcher Mike Guilfoyle. The first 500 fans to the ballpark will receive a Bluefish Schedule Poster, presented by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
