Isbell recently took home his first two Grammy Awards for his celebrated 2015 album, Something More Than Free, winning BEST AMERICANA ALBUM and BEST AMERICAN ROOTS SONG, for the track “24 Frames”. Something More Than Free resonated with critics and fans alike, selling over 100,000 copies to date following its July 17 release, when it debuted at #1 on the Rock, Country, Folk charts. Rolling Stone gave the album 4 stars, saying "With his honeysuckle drawl and unrivaled knack for lyrical detail, Jason Isbell is arguably the most revered roots-rock singer-songwriter of his generation...It's a master class in songwriting." The Los Angeles Times said, "Isbell's terrific new album is as solid as they come...as a lyricist, Isbell is in peak form here."
The album landed in numerous year-end top lists with accolades from NPR (view HERE), Rolling Stone, Billboard, Uncut, Stereogum, Entertainment Weekly, American Songwriter and many others. Something More Than Free has received an even wider range of press support than its celebrated predecessor, 2013’s breakthrough, Southeastern.
