Don Quixote versus The Windmill and The Windmill wins; Writer: Fundraising drive to save Bijou is ov

This is my last message on behalf of the Bijou Actors Guild. I'm sure many of you (if not all) have seen the message from Christine on FB or the Tweet. But we have suspended fundraising at her request. It was a bar too high to clear. As a troupe, we were just finding our audience, but past business missteps hindered meaningful advancement while correcting course.

During the past year and a half of working in this magical space, i have done some of my best work on stage. But the more enduring reward was working with all of you talented artists.

And that is something my ego would not have allowed me to say 20 years ago when i was just a young hopeful, as opposed to an old one. I have enjoyed every aspect of the handful of productions i have been lucky enough to be involved with. I have met some of the most selfless, caring, genuine people during that time, and any of you who have been involved in this business for longer than a day know how rare that can be sometimes.

This is not the end of all the work we tried to do. Our name and address will change, but our goals and work will not. We will find a new permanent home, and probably a few temporary ones in the interim, but the show must go on. And it will.

My deepest thanks to each and every person who is receiving this for your enduring support, thoughtful work, and friendship.

I truly hope to work with all of you again very soon

Every best wish:

John
