Mavericks Announce Transactions


INDEPENDENCE, MO — The Missouri Mavericks announced six transactions Monday afternoon completing trades and considerations that occurred during the 2015-16 season.

The Mavericks acquired the rights of forward T.J. Syner from the Utah Grizzlies to complete the trade that sent Taran Kozun to the Grizzlies in November. To complete the transaction that that sent Torin Syndeman to the Idaho Steelheads in December, the Mavericks acquired veteran forward Radoslav Illo.

“Both Radoslav and T.J. come to us as solid forwards with experience in both the ECHL and AHL,” said Brent Thiessen, General Manager of the Missouri Mavericks. “We’re excited to get them into camp and build for the 2016-17 campaign.”

To complete a series of in-season trades, Darian Dziurzynski was sent to the Indy Fuel to complete the trade for Reed Seckel, Zach Tolkinen was acquired by the Rapid City Rush to finalize the Zach Cohen trade, Chris Owens went to the Brampton Beast for the Scott Howes trade, and Kellen Jones went to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits to complete the Darian Dziurzynski trade.

“We truly want to wish all of these players the very best in the future and thank them for their contributions both on the ice and in the community during a historic season,” said Thiessen.

Radoslav Illo, a 5’11” 198lb forward from Bystrica, Slovakia was a fifth round draft pick by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Radoslav has played with ECHL teams the Idaho Steelheads, Tulsa Oilers and Norfolk Admirals.

T.J. Syner is a 5’9” 180lb forward from Springfield MA. T.J. has played with the AHL’s Hershey Bears as well as the Utah Grizzlies and Redding Royals of the ECHL.

Truman Special Community Service Recognition Award, the Bud Poile Governors’ Cup (CHL), and the CHL Franchise of the Year Award for four consecutive seasons.
