Bridgeport Rotary to honor local high school scholars at awards luncheon

The Bridgeport Rotary Club will have its Scholarship Recognition Luncheon at the Holiday Inn, downtown Bridgeport. The luncheon is scheduled to start at 12: noon.

We will award a senior from each of the ten (10) area high schools a scholarship in the amount of $2,500 each. These students are recognized based on the recommendations from their school. A short bio will be read about each student and where they are planning to attend college in the fall of this year.

Also, a plaque will be presented to a teacher from each school whom the principal feels has performed "Service Above Self" during this school year. Each principal will read a short brief explaining why he/she deserves our Service Above Self Award.

We feels, strongly, that the recognition of these students and teachers are news worthy and good news for the public to hear and see about our students and teachers.
