Two join U.B. athletic staff

Bridgeport - University of Bridgeport Director of Athletics Anthony Vitti has announced the hiring of two new staff members, Sara Richwine as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Scott Baird as Head Athletic Trainer.

Richwine comes to UB from Central Connecticut State University where she served as the Athletic Compliance Assistant, overseeing the Athletic Departments financial aid, athletic scholarships, playing and practice seasons, admissions process, as well as, coordinating NCAA rules education sessions for current student-athletes. Sara also has experience as an associate attorney.

Vitti said, “We are extremely excited to welcome Sara to our staff and the University. Her experience in compliance at the NCAA Division I level and as an associate attorney makes her the ideal selection for this position.”

Sara received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Political Science from Muhlenberg College and received her law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Baird comes to the Park City from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he served as Head Athletic Trainer from 2007-2015. His position included overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sports medicine center, teaching athletic training students, close interaction with student-athletes, as well as, close partnerships with team physicians and allied health professionals. Scott also has experience working the University of Wyoming’s sport clubs department.

Vitti stated, “Scott comes the University of Bridgeport with a wealth of experience and knowledge that we know will help our Athletic Training staff grow and take our student-athletes to an elite level. We could not be happier to have Scott join to our team”.

Scott received his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Dakota Wesleyan University.
