Sports Authority in Bridgeport to close

The Bridgeport Banner has learned that the Sports Authority in the Brookside Plaza on Main Street in the North End section of the city will soon be shutting its doors. The corporation declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week.

This is the second major to score to close in the same location in the past year. A Staples super store dimmed the lights in the same space prior to the grand opening of the Sports Authority.
