Merrill: Polls Now Open for 121st Assembly District Special Election

Hartford: Secretary of the State Denise W. Merrill reminded voters in the 121st Assembly District that polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for today’s special election.

Merrill said, “The most important thing is that everyone who is eligible goes out and votes. Election day is an important opportunity to choose your representative in state government.”

The special election was called in December to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Stratford state Rep. Terry Backer. The remainder of the term runs until January 4, 2017.

People can also go to the Secretary of the State’s website www.sots.ct.gov to see if they are registered to vote and where their polling place is located.
