HCC opens International Student Center
Bridgeport- Housatonic Community College has announced the opening of an International Student Center in Beacon Hall, Room 326. Assistant Director of Admissions, Susan Ratanavong says, “The Center gives HCC students who come to us from all over the world a place where they can gather, meet other international students, and get important information. It also gives us the opportunity to offer programs and activities of cultural interest to the entire HCC community.”
Currently the Center is open on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Nov. 12 at 12:30 p.m., the Center will offer a talk on Transferring Procedures to Student and Exchange Visitor (SEVIS)-approved schools.
An Open House is planned for Thursday, Nov. 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can sample ethnic food, world music and more.
On Tuesday, Nov. 24 the first in the My Culture Series will discuss “Practicing Gratitude Across Cultures.” The discussion starts at 12:30 p.m. and attendees are invited to bring their lunch.
