Grand Gala Proceeds Donated to Fairfield Senior Center

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that following the success of the Town’s 375th Anniversary Grand Gala Celebration, the Grand Gala Co-Chairs wanted to give leftover proceeds back to the Fairfield community. A beneficiary of the gala proceeds is The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities (formerly the Fairfield Senior Center) which has received a $10,000 donation to make enhancements to the kitchen area and meal services.

Marjorie Morresi, President of The Fairfield Senior Citizens Associates, said “We are very grateful for this generous donation from Fairfield’s 375th Gala. By 2016, we hope that our seniors will enjoy an upgraded kitchen for a breakfast and lunch meal service and cooking classes.”

First Selectman Tetreau said, “In the spirit of helping our community, the Grand Gala Co-Chairs asked how they could help our Town with the unused Gala proceeds. It was suggested that showing support to our seniors would be a great use of the funds. We are certain this will address a key priority for our seniors at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities. I appreciate the hard work of the 375th Anniversary Committee and its subcommittee, the Grand Gala Committee, and wish to give special thanks to the Grand Gala co-chairs Marlene Battista, Lee Crouch and Julia DeMeo for this gracious donation.”
